If you would like NoteWorthy Player to open when you double click on midi files, you can change the default action for MIDI files using the procedure below. Unfortunately, Microsoft changes the procedure with each new version of Windows, but you should get the idea by reading the procedure and adapting your actions as necessary for your version of Windows. Starting in the Windows Explorer window, do the following:

  1. Open an Explorer Window
  2. Select Tools : Folder Options (on some version sof Windows, this is instead found at View: Options)
  3. Click File Types tab
  4. Find Midi Sequence, or the MID extension (the exact name varies in different versions of Windows)
  5. Click the Advanced button if you have one, otherwise look for an Edit button
  6. Select NoteWorthy Player
  7. Click Set Default
