Transposing - Only a Section and Not the Entire Staff |
|
| User Tip #: 28 Offered By: Eugene D Cormier Last Modified: N/A |
If you need to transpose only a selection instead of the whole staff, first highlight the selection, then do a cut (ctrl+x). Open a new song file and paste the selection into it, then do the transposition (Tools, Transpose Staff). Then all you have to do is cut the transposed selection and paste it back into the original song file. If the selection does not include the clef and key signature, add the clef and key signature into new file before transposing. If you are going to move the notes back into the original file without the key signature, you may want to force accidentals first.
