To do a semi-glissando in NWC, there are several methods. The first way is to use grace notes, but that is not a true glissando. Let's say you want your trombonist to fliss from an F to an E-flat in four beats. Put in an F whole note. Then, in front of it, put in a multi-point controller. Select "Pitch Bend" with the style as "Linear Sweep". Then, select the time value as "Whole Note". Click the second checkbox and move its slider as far left as you can to make it lower a step. Then, create a second multi-point controller in front of the next note, and change it to a pitch bend with only the first value (uncheck the second box) and change the style to Absolute. This will ensure that the next note is still in proper tone after the gliss.
