Getting Lyrics to Highlight with Flow Direction

I notated a simple SATB choral piece with an A-B-A structure.  The "A" section has a 1st and 2nd verse in the lyrics.  I was going crazy trying to get NWC to play the 2nd verse when it went back to the A section.  First I tried D.C. al Fine, which played correctly, but highlighted the 1st verse again on the repeat.  If I replaced the D.C. al Fine with a master repeat close, it highlighted the 2nd verse correctly, but would not stop at the Fine.  Finally I used a 1st ending (hidden) for the B section, and that got it to stop.  I made the master repeat hidden also.  Since the lyrics were only attached to the 1st staff, and I was layering the soprano & alto staffs together, I kept the D.C. al Fine for the remaining lines so it would appear that way on the printout.
