Regarding the release of Winamp 3

This news headline remains for historical purposes only. Nullsoft released Winamp 5 at the end of 2003. Winamp 5 supports the NWC input plug-in. It is no longer necessary to use the older Winamp 2 version. See the Winamp site for details.

Nullsoft just released version 3 of their Winamp player. This version completely changes the plug-in architecture, and thus no longer works with the NWC Winamp 2 Plug-in.

We have not decided whether to add support for NWC files in Winamp 3, so please don't ask us. If we do add such support, we would announce it here.

At the moment, you can still get Winamp 2 from http://classic.winamp.com.
