Is there a way I can make a drum roll with a fermata? When I put a fermata on it, it just stops playing the roll for the fermata, then continues to roll after the fermata. Here's the string part:

Modify existing staff 1 as follows. Make sure all notes are muted, the drum channel is set to midi channel 10, and the staff properties are set to layer with next channel: Existing staff 1:
Note the muting, the change in the tempo variance, and the new hidden rests. Now add another staff below the first staff. This will be the playback staff. Note all the notes are invisible. The fermata has a value of 0, and I've added however many extra notes in the fermata bar to fake a fermata:
There's a limit of two clips per posting, so look at my next posting too. | |||||||||

Your existing second staff has to have the fermata of 0 and to have some hidden rests. All notes in this staff will be muted. This staff will be layered with the one to be added below it.
This is your playback staff for the second staff.
That should do it. | |||||||||
