I'm not on the newsgroup these days, but it's my understanding that nearly all of the action is there, particularly among the experienced users. The forum (either 1 or 2) is better suited to newbie questions.

That's just it. We are getting withdrawal symptoms from *not* answering newbie questions. Maybe the newbies read the FAQ too well.

I monitor 5 forums, including NWC. Not all are about music. They are all generally quiet these days. Besides hurricanes and politics: (1) Opera browser is now free, and they want to overtake Firefox; (2) It seems that Google might be trying to set up a wide network of encryptable free WiFi; (3) There are iPod advances.
I imagine that the younger crowd, who seem to be interested in these things, are busy enough. NWC appears to have a large footprint in traditional choir and classical, and there's only so much to discuss.
