Keeps checking for new version

I have nwc2 on my laptop with no problems and had no problems on my old pc until I installed it onto my new one. Everytime I click on the shortcut (and on the application) I get asked if I want to check for new update, it always says 'no' because I have the latest. I have uninstalled and reinstalled...no luck! When I access my music from the laptop via the network (again no problems before new pc) it won't open the file as it says the file is from a newer version of nwc2!!!!! I'm getting very frustrated! Please help Kath
