There is an instrument tree called my favorites. Is there a way to make you own .nwcitree?? I want to edit or create new ones. If not..is there a work around??

Yes indeed :-)
Carefully read the file named 'sample.nwcitree'
You can do all sorts of things:
Change default dynamics:
Sort instruments into the order in which they appear in scores:
If you use transposing instruments (horns clarinets etc) you can list them and include the trans value.
You can even use it as a means ot testing various soundfonts.
etc. etc. etc, and so on and so forth.
My favourite part of nwc2 ;-)

Yes..I see that..It is edited but how do I open it so I can change dynamics and instrument names. When I go to the instrument trees in the program files folder..it says it is an unknown file type. But when I select change list in predefined instruments..I can open them there. How do I change them?? I want to open the actual .nwcitree and retype the text like the NTWPATCH so I can rechange the instrument names. but when I click in it. It won't open like the NWTPATCH does where I can rearrange text!! Can someone help me??

Use any text editor (WordPad is better than Notepad). (Highlight, right click, select open with.. and tick the 'always open with' box.) This works on 98, not sure about XP.
Once you are happy with what you have done, change the name of 'Default.nwcitree' and name your own as 'Default.nwcitree' That way it's there whenever you need it.
Incidentally, I keep a shortcut to it on my desktop for quick editing.
