NoteWorthy Composer 2 Forum Help
Intro:
We have made a forum available where users can interact with each other. This is done by
posting your questions and answers via a web-based form accessible from the navigation links
in each page.
Each new post is added to the list of message topics as a new subject line. Each new message is placed at the top of the current forum. After a message has been posted, it can be viewed by anyone with web access to our site. This is done by clicking the topic from the list.
Each message file in a forum represents the entire thread of discussion for that message. New replies can be posted by the reader after having reviewed the message and its existing replies. As new replies are offered, the reply count is maintained in the master index, so it is easy for the reader to see which items include a reply.
Your Identity:
When you create a new article or reply, try to be consistent with the name you use
to identify yourself. This will help others identify you, and it will help you later
when you are trying to find an article that you previously posted. If you want to avoid
retyping your name each time you post a new article or reply, you can setup
a default name for the forms. This will be stored on your computer and then sent as a
browser cookie from your system. This will also enable some other shortcuts in the
forum, such as a My Messages link in the top navigation bar.
Message Formatting:
When entering your message, do not try to embed HTML tags in your
text. This will not work. The forum will automatically convert the special symbols used
in HTML programming into their viewable symbols. This means that HTML tags will be visible
in the forum, and not behave as intended.
If you want to embed a link to a previous forum message, simply prefix the existing forum message number with an exclamation point. For example, typing "see !1" in your forum post will automatically be converted to "see article #1" in the copy of your message posted to the forum. If you want to link to a specific reply in a previous forum message, then simply add the reply number after a "#" sign. For example, typing "see !1#2" in your forum post will automatically be converted to "see reply 2 in article #1" in the copy of your message posted to the forum.
