I´ve got a keyboard that I tried to plug into
my computer, I am sure that I got the "midi in/out"
plugs right, and I´ve set the MIDI input
active command but it still doesn´t work!?

Why are you sure that you have the plugs correct?

When things don't work, you should suspect problems in this order:

1) Cable in and out are reversed

2) Sound card MIDI device driver is not properly installed

3) Cable is defective

4) Sound card MIDI port is defective

5) External Keyboard MIDI port is defective or misconfigured

The only way to be sure which is the problem is to rule out each of these, one by one.
