I have an existing staff in the key of C. I want to change the staff to the key of G. Can I do this without having to enter all of the notes again?

The following should help: Change Key Procedure: 1. From the Tools menu, select Force Accidentals 2. Select the key signature, and change it using Ctrl+E (Edit Selection) (if no key exists, then use Insert Key Signature at the beginning of the staff) 3. Press OK. The Key Signature is now changed. 4. Select Transpose, and specify an interval of "0". This will re-spell the staff based on the new key signature You now have completed the key change.

Step 4: In recent versions, you should run Tools|Audit Enharmonic Spelling, rather than Transpose, in this final step. See also: faq #6
