Can't paste Cyrillic into Lyrics

I can type Cyrillic directly into the Lyrics, once I've gone through page setup and modified the staff lyric to use Cyrillic script. However, when I try to copy Cyrillic text from MS word into the Lyrics window, all of the characters turn into question marks (for example,???-?? ??? ???-???). A friend of mine who uses NWC is able to paste Cyrillic in from MS Word with no problems. Any ideas why I can't?

G'day John, my best guess would be unicode in Word - NWC doesn't support it.
